Photo Journal: Mouthwatering crop

Daiei watermelons, a specialty of the Tottori Prefecture town of Hokuei, are pictured at a sorting plant in the town in this recent photo, as shipments approach a peak. Every day about 30,000 watermelons go through a sorting plant operated by agricultural cooperative JA Tottori Chuo. A total of about 1.1 million watermelons are due to be shipped out, mainly to destinations in Japan's Kansai region. (Mainichi)
