Photo Journal: Soaking it up

Elephants relax in a "hot spring" at Kyoto City Zoo in Kyoto's Sakyo Ward on Jan. 22, 2017, the first time for them to do so. Three elephants, 6-year-olds Natsumi Bunnyun, and Harumi Kampart, and 8-year-old Fuyumi Tonkun, entered the water one after the other, to the delight of visitors. The pachyderms appeared cautious at first, but were soon relaxing, soaking in the water and moving around inside the pool. The zoo plans to repeat the event on Feb. 19. (Mainichi)
