Crow head found at Kobe school where remains of boy were dumped in 1997 murder

KOBE -- A severed crow's head was on April 9 found speared on a tree branch at a junior high school here where the body parts of a murdered sixth-grader were found in 1997.

A male student found the crow's head speared on a branch of a tree behind the gymnasium of the school in Kobe's Suma Ward at around 12:40 p.m. on April 9, according to local police. It was placed at a height of approximately 85 centimeters.

Judging from the cut, police suspect someone slashed the bird's head off. They are investigating the case as trespassing, and placed police officers at the school the following day as classes resumed that day after the spring break.

According to Suma Police Station, no traces of blood were found at the site, and the body of the crow has not been located. No irregularities were reported on April 6 when school staff made the rounds at the school.
