Photo Journal: Purple patch

Tourists take pictures amongst a carpet of lavender at Farm Tomita in Nakafurano, Hokkaido. The area is known for growing lavender, a summer staple, and is said to be one of the most famous tourist spots in Japan among Chinese visitors after photos of the flowers were shared on social media. The peak blooming season for lavender is expected to continue until the end of July. (Mainichi)
