SHINGU, Fukuoka -- A promotional video for Ainoshima, nicknamed "cat island," is inviting popular British singer and known cat-lover Ed Sheeran to visit when he comes to Japan this year.

Ainoshima was named one of CNN's "5 places where cats outshine tourist attractions" in 2013, and along with the beautiful ocean and mountain views of the island, the roughly 150 cats who call the island home also make an appearance in the new promotional video uploaded to YouTube.

The video uses the 26-year-old Sheeran's music in the background, and was created with a music video feel. The English text featured in the video is written as a direct invitation letter, beginning with "Dear Mr. Ed Sheeran," and concluding with the "cats are eagerly waiting for you!"

The singer-songwriter has a Japan concert planned for October, and a PR representative for the town said, "We would definitely like him to visit Ainoshima."
