Photo Journal: Dolls by the dozen

A total of some 1,830 traditional "hina" dolls are displayed at the Elumi Konosu shopping mall in Konosu, Saitama Prefecture, on Feb. 15, 2018. The collection is the largest in Japan, perched on a 7-meter high pyramid with 31 tiers, and is the main attraction for the "Konosu Bikkuri Hina Matsuri 2018" that was organized by the city's tourism organization with support from The Mainichi Newspapers, and kicked off on Feb. 16. The production of the hina dolls has been the pride of Konosu since the Edo period. The dolls can be enjoyed until March 11. (Mainichi)
