Photo Journal: Chick magnet

A Magellanic penguin chick ready to make its debut on April 27 is seen at the Sumida Aquarium in Tokyo's Sumida Ward on April 25, 2018. When the penguin hatched on April 10 it only weighed about 96 grams, but had reached some 446 grams as of April 25 -- growing roughly 40 grams per day. In a year's time, the chick will shed its fluffy exterior for adult penguin feathers, so the opportunity to see the fuzzy penguin is limited. The exhibition will run until May 20, and visitors can submit ideas for names for the penguin on ballots at the aquarium. Workers at the facility are set to announce the chosen name in late June.
