Photo Journal: Hydrated hydrangeas

Hydrangeas are in full bloom at Hakusan Shrine in Tokyo's Bunkyo Ward on June 6, 2018. The Japan Meteorological Agency announced on the day that the rainy season had apparently begun in the Kinki, Tokai and Kanto-Koshin regions. The rainy season started one day earlier in Kinki and two days earlier in Tokai and Kanto-Koshin than in an average year. There are some 3,000 hydrangeas of about 30 varieties at Hakusan Shrine and the adjacent Hakusan Park, which are popular viewing spots for the flowers. A hydrangea festival will be held at the shrine and park from June 9 through 17. (Mainichi)
