Candle and incense maker Kameyama Co. has joined hands with a famous brewer to produce One Cup Ozeki sake scented incense sticks for use at home.

The label of the popular item is designed to look exactly like an actual cup of One Cup Ozeki, a popular drink among the working class in Japan. The product is perfect for purifying the home and offering wafts of alcohol to deceased friends and loved ones in the afterlife. Sake is mixed with the incense in the production process and releases a distinctive aroma.

Kameyama has sold about 60 kinds of unusual incense sticks such as candy and curry scented items since 2009. The sake incense sticks have been on the market since April this year and a total of 10,000 boxes have been shipped so far -- marking a record.

A box of the One Cup Ozeki incense sticks costs 680 yen, plus tax. Customers are very happy "to offer sake to heaven," according to Kameyama.
