Kurdish women dressed in colorful ethnic costumes dance in a circle for the Kurdish New Year celebration Newroz, at a park in Warabi, Saitama Prefecture, on March 20, 2016. The celebration was held by the Japan Kurdish Cultural Association, composed primarily of ethnic Kurds with Turkish nationality living in the prefectural city of Kawaguchi, and the Japan-Kurdistan Friendship Association. Around 1,500 people participated in the event, where women wore costumes embroidered in bright reds, greens and yellows. (Mainichi)
