Photo Journal: Pond of petals

Boats carve their way through cherry blossom petals on the surface of Inokashira Pond in Mitaka, Tokyo, on April 8, 2016. Blossoms started to fall from trees following rain on April 7, signaling the approaching end of the blossom-viewing season. About 250 cherry trees are planted around the pond, and on April 8 the area was busy with those out to catch a view of the pink petals. The Seibu District Park Office says the trees will be good for viewing until about the end of this week. (Mainichi)
