Studio Ghibli color designer Yasuda dies at 77

Michiyo Yasuda (Mainichi)

Michiyo Yasuda, a color designer for Studio Ghibli, passed away on Oct. 5 due to illness, it has been learned. She was 77.

Yasuda's funeral was held with close family members, with her husband Mikio serving as chief mourner.

After working on Hayao Miyazaki's "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind," Yasuda was in charge of color design for most Studio Ghibli films, including "Spirited Away," and "The Wind Rises."
