Disaster message board instructions available in foreign languages after Tottori quake

In response to a major earthquake that struck Tottori Prefecture on Oct. 21, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corp. (NTT West) and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corp. (NTT East) have launched an emergency telephone message service through which you can inform your family members and friends about your safety. Dial "171" to access the service.

The two carriers also provide a disaster message board service called "web171," which can be accessed from both smartphones and computers. Web171 provides user guidance in English, Chinese and Korean, plus Japanese.
