Photo Journal: Golden boy

A Momotaro "Peach Boy" statue made with pure gold is seen at a jewelry shop in Okayama on Oct. 27, 2016. The statue is made with 140 grams of gold, and is approximately 10 centimeters wide and 10 centimeters tall. It shows Momotaro wearing samurai clothing, with one foot out of the peach in which he is said to have traveled down a river in a folk story, and a fan in his right hand. According to Tomiya Corp., whose flagship store has placed the statue on display, the price of the statue will vary depending on gold prices, but it was priced at 2,229,600 yen as of Oct. 27.
