A bus driver was caught on video playing "Pokemon Go" while behind the wheel, the bus company's parent firm in western Japan announced on Nov. 4.

Okayama-based Ryobi Holdings announced that a 41-year-old bus driver working for the Osaka branch of its subsidiary Ryobi Bus Kansai Co. was playing Pokemon Go while driving a tour bus. A video of the driver using the mobile app was posted to YouTube, and the driver admitted to the allegations. Details such as the time, date and location of the incident are still being investigated.

According to Ryobi Holdings, it looked into the matter after receiving information about the video on Oct. 31. The video is around 20 seconds long and shows the driver holding the steering wheel with his left hand while operating a smartphone with his right. The bus is not reported to have had an accident or any trouble.

A spokesperson for Ryobi Holdings said, "We apologize deeply. We will work to prevent a recurrence." The spokesperson indicated that punishment for the driver would be considered.
