Another bus driver caught playing 'Pokemon Go' on duty

KYOTO -- A bus company here announced on Nov. 10 that one of its drivers was caught playing the "Pokemon Go" smartphone game while behind the wheel -- the second such case to emerge in Japan over the past week.

According to Keihan Bus Co., the 51-year-old driver was playing the game while driving a route in Kyoto's Fushimi Ward on Oct. 24 at about 10:40 a.m. The incident was discovered when someone in an oncoming car called the company after noticing the bus fail to signal when making a right turn at an intersection.

When the company reviewed the bus's onboard video recorder, it found that in four days over the course of a week (including Oct. 24), the driver had been playing "Pokemon Go" while stopped at traffic lights but also while driving with passengers on board.
