Glimpses of Japan: Ancient court dances (5)

Gagaku players are seen performing to a tune during the spring bugaku at the Rokka-en garden in Kuwana, Mie Prefecture. The tune arranged during the Heian period is based on a tale in which Emperor Xuanzong of Tang (reign from 712 to 756) made flowers bloom all at once when he played the flute and tapped the drum.
