Photo Journal: Fukushima fishing comeback

Fishing boats are greeted with colorful flags as they return to Ukedo harbor in the town of Namie in Fukushima Prefecture on Feb. 25, 2017, after an absence of about 6 years. The area has been under an evacuation order since the outbreak of the disaster at Tokyo Electric Power Co.'s Fukushima No.1 Nuclear Power Plant in 2011, but this order is due to be lifted, possibly in late March. In addition, reconstruction work on the quay at Ukedo harbor -- which was damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011 -- has almost been completed and residents are celebrating the return of fishing in the area.
