A top fan of Japanese pop singer Kyary Pamyu Pamyu has been arrested on suspicion of taking obscene footage of a 14-year-old fellow fan of the singer, police said on March 17.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) arrested 38-year-old Kazuki Morikawa, an unemployed resident of Tokyo's Kita Ward, on suspicion of illegally producing child pornography.

According to Morikawa's Twitter account and other sources, he is a huge fan of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, and was acting like a leader among fellow fans. The victim was quoted as telling police, "I thought that if I turned him down I wouldn't be able to engage in fan activities."

The MPD accuses Morikawa of forcing the 14-year-old second-year junior high school girl to perform obscene acts at a hotel in the Ikebukuro district of Tokyo's Toshima Ward in April last year. He has reportedly admitted to the allegations against him, saying, "I liked young people."

Police said they had found smartphone images of several people, and they are continuing to investigate Morikawa's actions as he told them he engaged in obscene acts with other fans.
