Photo Journal: Sculptured sister

Yoji Yamada, director of the popular film series "Otoko wa Tsurai yo" (It's tough being a man), and actress Chieko Baisho, who played the role of Sakura, the younger sister of the films' protagonist Tora-san, stand next to a newly unveiled statue of Sakura in front of Shibamata Station in Katsushika Ward, Tokyo, on March 25, 2017. The 160-centimeter-tall statue stands around 7 meters away from a statue of Tora-san and is supposed to depict Sakura calling out to her brother. The Tora-san statue was completed in 1999, and local residents had wanted a statue of Sakura to accompany it. (Mainichi)
