Photo Journal: Kobe comeback

Kobe Harbor's tourist hotspot Meriken Park is shown in this photo taken on April 5, 2017, in Kobe's Chuo Ward after a 1-billion-yen waterfront renovation by the city, as Kobe Harbor celebrated 150 years since its opening. The entire park is lit up during the evening, and visitors can enjoy the 50 newly planted cherry trees blooming by the sea. At the renovation completion ceremony, Kobe Mayor Kizo Hisamoto said, "I hope many people will come visit this park as a place that represents Kobe." (Mainichi)
