Photo Journal: Dazzling dragon

Visitors admire the cultural treasure painting "Unryuzu" depicting a dragon flying through the clouds, a work by leading Momoyama era artist Kaiho Yusho (1533-1615), as part of the opening ceremony of the special exhibition "Kaiho Yusho" at the Kyoto National Museum in Kyoto's Higashiyama Ward on April 10, 2017. Also featured in the exhibit is the artist's masterpiece "Gekkakeiryuzubyobu," depicting a landscape scene, which made a homecoming from the U.S. for the first time in 60 years. The exhibition runs until May 21. The museum is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays). Tickets are 1,500 yen for adults, 1,200 yen for college students, 900 yen for high school students and free for junior high students and those younger. (Mainichi)
