Photo Journal: Post-storm heat

Women walk in light early-summer clothing and with parasols in the Saitama Prefecture city of Kumagaya on April 18, 2017, as the Japan Meteorological Agency predicted temperatures would rise to around 28 and 30 degrees Celsius in Tokyo and northern Saitama Prefecture, respectively, following a stormy night and morning. Due to a low pressure front that rapidly moved in a northeasterly direction over the Sea of Japan, the Kanto region saw strong winds and heavy rains on the morning of April 18. There is a chance that northern Japan, primarily the side facing the Pacific Ocean, will see heavy rains into the night of April 18. (Mainichi)
