Photo Journal: Mystic morning

A hiker walks through the early morning mist hanging over the marshes in Oze National Park, in the village of Katashina, Gunma Prefecture, on May 19, 2017, the day the park opened to visitors. The park straddles the prefectures of Gunma, Fukushima, Niigata and Tochigi. Hikers with cameras in hand flocked to Ozegahara on the Gunma side of the park to enjoy marshland wildflowers called mizubasho and other signs of spring starting to peak out of the remaining snow. According to the Oze-Yamanohana Visitor Center, the flowers will be in bloom from late May through early June. (Mainichi)
