Boy slapped with fresh charges of making classmate eat dog feces, insects

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) served a fresh arrest warrant on a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of repeated cases of bullying including making a classmate eat dog feces, it was announced on May 23.

It is thought that the boy, who is a first-year student at a correspondence course high school in Tokyo's Nerima Ward, has bullied four to five of his classmates in a similar fashion.

The boy is specifically accused of making a 16-year-old male classmate eat a locust on the platform of Higashi-Fushimi Station on the Seibu Shinjuku Line in the western Tokyo city of Nishitokyo, as well as making the classmate eat the feces of a dog he kept at his home, between September and October 2016.

"I made him do all kinds of things," the boy was quoted as telling investigators.

According to the MPD's juvenile crime unit, another classmate consulted with the MPD in late August 2016 regarding an alleged assault by the boy -- revealing a problem of bullying. It is believed that the boy had been making other classmates eat things such as plants, earthworms and geckos from around January 2016, and that the classmates "were afraid of retaliation."

The boy had earlier been arrested twice under suspicion of violence toward classmates, as well as coercion.
