Photo Journal: Steaming ahead

A D51 steam locomotive affectionately known as "Degoichi" drives ahead with plumes of smoke bellowing out of its stack, on the JR Yamaguchi Line in the city of Yamaguchi on July 11, 2017. It was the first time in 44 years that a D51 locomotive had been operated on the line -- the last time being in 1973. After departing from Shin-Yamaguchi Station, the train headed toward Tsuwano Station in Shimane Prefecture, attracting many steam locomotive fans with cameras along the route. (Mainichi)
