Photo Journal: True Blue

Some 1,200 hydrangea plants create a sea of blue blossoms at Unshoji temple in Oga, Akita Prefecture. The walls of hydrangeas started with just a single hydrangea plant that the temple's deputy chief priest, Shuun Konaka, 47, found growing on the temple grounds about 15 years ago. Peak viewing season for the flowers will last until mid-July. (Mainichi)
