Photo Journal: Snowy sight

People are seen in front of Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate) at the entrance to Tokyo's Sosenji temple in the capital's Taito Ward, as snow falls on the morning of Feb. 2, 2018. The Japan Meteorological Agency warned people in the Kanto and Koshinetsu regions to be on the alert against heavy snow and icy roads as a low pressure system brought snow to many areas. By 5 a.m. on Feb. 2, the Nagano Prefecture town of Kiso had recorded 18 centimeters of snow over a 24-hour period, while the capital's Chiyoda Ward saw a 1-centimeter layer. The agency predicted that Tokyo's 23 Wards would see a maximum of 3 centimeters of snow accumulate over the 24-hour period ending at 6 a.m. on Feb. 3. (Mainichi)
