TSUKUBA, Ibaraki -- About 120 million yen in cash was found to have been stolen from a delivery company after police searched its office here following an emergency call in the early hours of March 4.
According to Ibaraki Prefectural Police's Tsukubakita Police Station, the cash was kept separately in rooms on the first and second floors of the Noboru Unyu company in Tsukuba as operating capital. The office had been vacant since around 5 p.m. on March 3 while the service door and some of windows were not locked. The rooms were apparently ransacked during the theft.
A male employee of a car sales and repair company, which is located at the same site, who was napping in a room, reportedly heard people entering and leaving the office, and called the police at around 2:20 a.m.
