Paralympics: Narita wins snowboarding banked slalom for Japan's 2nd gold

PYEONGCHANG, South Korea -- Japan's Gurimu Narita won the gold medal in the men's snowboarding banked slalom SB-LL2 class at the Pyeongchang Paralympic Games on March 16.

    Narita, 24, won the event at Jeongseon Alpine Centre with a time of 48.68 seconds. The gold medal was the second for Japan at the 2018 Winter Paralympics, following the medal won by 21-year-old Momoka Muraoka in the women's giant slalom sitting competition on March 14. It was also Narita's second medal of the games, following the bronze he won in the men's snowboard cross SB-LL2 class on March 12.

    The SB-LL2 class is for athletes with impairment in one or two legs.
