Photo Journal: Getting dolled up for the Olympics

A good luck red Daruma doll, on which the flags of more than 200 countries and regions that participated in the Rio Olympics are painted, is seen in the Tokyo suburban city of Chofu in this recent photo. A local women's town revitalization group made the dolls to lift spirits ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics. The dolls are made of paper and are about 80 centimeters high, approximately 60 centimeters wide and can be worn. Keiko Kiyama, 58, a leader of the group, said, "I want to dance (wearing the Daruma) at local events." (Mainichi)
