Photo Journal: Mountainous masterpiece

People view "Gunjo Fuji," one of the most important works by Japanese-style painter Yokoyama Taikan (1868-1958), at the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo in Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward on April 13, 2018, at a special exhibition titled "The 150th Anniversary of his Birth: Yokoyama Taikan," which kicked off the same day. About 90 works are displayed in the exhibition, which many people visited from the first day. Michiko Kasuya, 80, who came from Kawaguchi, Saitama Prefecture, said, "It was the first time for me to view Taikan's Meiji era works. It was really good." The exhibition will run through May 27, with "Gunjo Fuji" on display until May 6. (Mainichi)
