SENDAI -- The municipal government here will present a local traditional "Tsutsumi Doll" to figure skating hometown hero Yuzuru Hanyu, according to an April 17 announcement.

Hanyu performed to the song "Seimei" from the movie "Onmyoji" in the men's free program at the Pyeongchang Olympics in February. Hanyu earlier consulted with Kyogen performer Nomura Mansai, the leading actor in the movie, to learn about the Noh Sanbaso dance to enhance his act.

The doll appears to be dancing the Sanbaso and was made by Tsuyoshi Haga, a 76-year-old contemporary master craftsman living in Sendai. "This doll suits Hanyu. I hope he will relax with the doll when he feels tired," said Haga.
