Elementary school children enjoy picking tea leaves at a farm in Tokyo's Itabashi Ward on May 8, 2018. About 500 fourth- and fifth-graders from five elementary schools in the ward participated in the event, which was held for the 20th consecutive year this year. Students entered the farm with plastic bags and collected about 100 kilograms of tea leaves. A student commented, "I can't believe that this leaf will become tea!" The leaves will be processed into tea and sent to each participating school in early June. (Mainichi)
