Photo Journal: Feathered football friends?

Two rare white crows are seen in Hirakawa in the northern prefecture of Aomori in this photo provided by Takuma Kasai. Reports of sightings of the pair have recently hit the city, with locals saying that the birds are a sign of good luck for Japan's national soccer team ahead of its World Cup group stage clash with Poland in Russia on June 28, 2018. An image of the three-legged mythical crow called "Yatagarasu" is used as the emblem of the Samurai Blue uniform. A Hirakawa city official said he hopes Japan will advance to the knockout stage by clinching its second win in the group stage, as the two birds may symbolize.
