Photo Journal: Let the Olympic shopping begin!

Japan national women's softball team pitcher Yukiko Ueno, left, and Yuki Morishita, who took part in the 2016 Summer Paralympics held in Rio de Janeiro, attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony on the second floor of Bic Camera Shinjuku West Store in Tokyo to celebrate the opening of a Tokyo 2020 Official Shop on July 23, 2018. The first permanent shop that specializes in official goods related to the Olympic and Paralympic Games plans to sell around 700 different items, such as giant toys, until it closes on Sept. 30, 2020. Although such stores previously opened only for a limited time, this shop will open for an extended period to raise awareness about the games. Veteran Ueno, 36, commented that she feels the shop will "help more people know about the games." The mascot for the Tokyo Olympic Games, "Miraitowa," and "Someity," the mascot for the Paralympic Games, also attended the event. (Mainichi)
