Photo Journal: Astronomical appearance

The copper moon is seen during a total lunar eclipse in the town of Hisayama, Fukuoka Prefecture, on July 28, 2018. The astronomical display was visible in most areas of Japan, except on the northern island of Hokkaido, in the predawn hours of the day. In Hisayama, the eclipse started after 3:30 a.m. through clouds, and the moon was completed eclipsed at 4:30 a.m. However, the clouds continued to gather and obscure the sight, and the moon was no longer visible after 5 a.m. (Mainichi)
