Japanese white "noren" curtains flutter on the second floor of the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo hotel in the Nihonbashi area of Tokyo's Chuo Ward on Oct 31, 2018. The curtains wave when sensors detect the presence of people. As part of the "nihonbashi Beta" project promoted by companies and shops in the Nihonbashi area, art directors, students and other participants designed curtains called "Mirai no Noren (futuristic shop curtains)." The curtains are also on display at shopping center Coredo Muromachi and Mitsui Garden Hotel Nihonbashi Premier until Nov. 11.
