RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) -- Sao Paulo's homeless are being treated to a Christmas meal thanks to a crowdfunding campaign that raised over $20,000.
The charity SP Invisivel organized the event with the goal of feeding and providing presents for 1,000 homeless people who live on the streets of Latin Americas most populous city.
The homeless dined Saturday on large tables set up right on the street. They also got free medical and dental consulations and a present.
Juliana da Silva came with her five children. She lives in an abandoned building and says that the meal "represents a lot of love and care."
