Tokyo aquarium floats to life with colorful jellyfish exhibition

TOKYO -- A display of jellyfish, which are lit up in green to express the fresh colors of early summer, is proving popular with visitors to Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa aquarium in the capital's Minato Ward.

In the exhibition room that contains seven column aquariums, visitors can observe some 500 jellyfish from eight different varieties, including the sanderia malayensis and tima Formosa species. The room surrounded by mirrors is colorfully lit up while music is played to add to the atmosphere.

The exhibition can be enjoyed every day until July 7. The entrance fee is 2,200 yen for those of high school student age or older, 1,200 yen for elementary or junior high school students and 700 yen for those aged 4 up to elementary school age.
