CHIBA -- A man on a National Police Agency (NPA) list of 883 missing people who may have been abducted by North Korea was found in Japan in April, police here announced on May 20.
According to Chiba Prefectural Police, the man in his 50s went missing in 1992, but it turned out that his disappearance was unrelated to North Korea. Police have not disclosed where the man was found or the reason he went missing.
The NPA's possible North Korean abduction victim list now stands at 882 people.
