Ex-KAT-TUN idol pleads guilty to charges of possessing marijuana

TOKYO -- Junnosuke Taguchi, a former member of Japanese all-male idol group KAT-TUN, and former actress Rena Komine pleaded guilty on July 11 to charges of possessing marijuana.

Taguchi 33, and Komine, 38, entered their pleas during their first hearing at the Tokyo District Court on July 11.

According to the indictment, Taguchi and Komine stand accused of violating the Cannabis Control Act by being in possession of several grams of marijuana at an apartment in Tokyo's Setagaya Ward on May 22.

They were arrested by the Narcotics Control Department of the Kanto-Shinetsu Regional Bureau of Health and Welfare and released on bail on June 7 after being indicted.
