KOFU -- The mother of Misaki Ogura, a 7-year-old girl who went missing at a campsite in this central Japan prefecture one month ago, handed out flyers here on Oct. 21 asking people to provide any information on the girl.
The first-grade elementary school student from Narita, Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo, arrived at the Tsubakiso auto campsite in the Yamanashi Prefecture village of Doshi on Sept. 21 with her mother Tomoko, 36, elder sister and friends -- all in a group of 27 people made up of seven families.
Misaki vanished after following other children heading to a nearby stream at around 3:40 p.m.
"I'm looking for my missing daughter," Tomoko said as she distributed flyers to pedestrians in front of JR Otsuki Station in the city of Otsuki, Yamanashi Prefecture, along with her friends and volunteers from around 4:30 p.m. The handouts showed Misaki's photograph, information on her physical description and what she was wearing at the time of her disappearance.
"I think my daughter has spent the past month in an unfamiliar location. She must be very anxious and lonely. I would like to seek the help of everyone in Japan," Tomoko told the press.
If you have any information about Misaki Ogura's whereabouts, please call Otsuki Police Station at: 0554-22-0110.
