People hold up special train tickets issued by Osaka Metro Co. Ltd. to mark a ceremony in which Japan's Emperor Naruhito proclaimed his enthronement, at Shin-Osaka Station in Osaka's Yodogawa Ward on the morning of Oct. 22, 2019. Some 150 people, both young and old, lined up from before 7 a.m. at a special booth set up at Shin-Osaka Station on the Midosuji Line to buy the tickets commemorating the Sokuirei-Seiden-no-gi ceremony. After purchasing them, some buyers stamped them with the date and took commemorative photos in front of the ticket gates. A set of five tickets, featuring various creatures including a tortoise, crane and mythical kirin, cost 1,000 yen. The company prepared 5,000 sets, and it will continue to sell them at information counters at Umeda, Nanba and Shin-Osaka stations between Oct. 23 and Nov. 30, while they last.
