AGUI, Aichi -- A robotic system that makes green tea from powder will be displayed at a promotional event at Nishio City Culture Hall here in central Japan on Nov. 16 and 17.
"Robotics Matcha" was developed by Denso Wave Inc., a subsidiary of major automobile parts manufacturer Denso Co. based in the prefectural town of Agui, and was exhibited at the World Robot Summit in Tokyo last autumn.
The system consists of three small robots that are each programmed to serve specific roles such as holding a tea cup or a whisk. A robot pours hot water into a cup with powder and another robot whisks the green tea. It takes about two minutes for the robots to make a cup of tea.
