TOKYO -- Kyodo News announced on Feb. 17 that 10 of its employees had used a hired vehicle driven by a man who has tested positive for the new coronavirus.
The leading Japanese news agency said it ordered all 10 employees to stay home from Feb. 17. None of them has shown symptoms attributable to infection with the novel virus strain, such as fever, according to the agency.
The announcement came a day after the Tokyo Metropolitan Government revealed on Feb. 16 that it had confirmed the driver, who is in his 60s, had been infected with the new coronavirus.
According to the news agency, the 10 employees boarded the driver's vehicle over the course of four days between late January and early February.
