Japan Photo Journal: Brightening the mood

(Mainichi/Takashi Kamiiriki)

Sunflowers are seen at the Florante Miyazaki botanical garden, which has been temporarily closed due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, in the southwestern Japan city of Miyazaki, on May 20, 2020, ahead of the facility's planned reopening on May 25. About 1,300 sunflowers are ready to greet visitors near the entrance. The yellow flowers are almost at their best and can be enjoyed until early June, according to a person in charge.
