About 50 people rescued from flood-hit nursing home in Kumamoto

KUMAMOTO (Kyodo) -- About 50 people were rescued from a flood-hit nursing home in Kumamoto Prefecture where a dozen others are feared to have died, the prefectural government said Sunday.

    At the Senjuen care facility in the village of Kuma, 14 people were found showing no vital signs Saturday after a nearby river broke its banks and inundated the area.
