SAPPORO -- Visitors at a flower park in Japan's northernmost prefecture of Hokkaido are being treated to views of thousands of lilies in full bloom.

Some 20,000 lilies spanning 100 varieties can be seen in "The World of Lily Gardens" inside Sapporo Yurigahara Park located in the city's Kita Ward. The lilies, which first showed signs of blooming in June, can be viewed until mid-August, depending on the variety.

The administrative office of the park commented, "The number of visitors has been increasing, and it is likely that there are more people enjoying their time nearby because of the coronavirus."
