TOKOROZAWA, Saitama -- Seibuen Yuenchi, an amusement park in this city just north of Tokyo, will be closed down on Nov. 1 for a major facelift.

Park operator Seibu Railway Co. said the closure is intended to smooth major renovation work that began in December 2019. Seibu did not reveal exactly how long it would take to finish the makeover -- aimed at transforming the park into "a world where visitors will be filled with a heartwarming euphoria" -- but did say it will reopen sometime in 2021.
